One of the largest national parks in the U.S., Death Valley provides 3.4 million acres of diverse landscape for avid hikers and sightseers. The unique desert is made up of parched earth and crusty salt flats that give way to rolling sand dunes, volcanic fields, looming mountains and even an oasis! Sunny and clear throughout the year, you can visit any season - just make sure to check the heat advisory and bring plenty of water.

Palm Desert

Tucked away at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains, Palm Desert hosts a variety activity for city visitors. From shopping to spas to refreshing pools, there’s something for everyone! Enjoy a show at the McCallum Theater for Performing Arts, or have a picnic at the Aerie Art Garden. Kids will love the Living Desert Wild Animal Park and Botanical Gardens, where they can learn about native wildlife in California.

Calico Ghost Town

For those who would like a taste of the wild west, this site is a must see! The Knott’s Berry Farm purchased and restored Calico to its current glory in the 1950’s. Most of the historical buildings of this silver rush ghost town remain for sightseers and the rest of the city evolved into a thriving community filled with shops, restaurants and stores. Despite its name, this ghost town is full of life, and worth a visit!
