Grand Ole Opry House

The Grand Ole Opry, an American icon and Nashville, Tennessee’s number-one attraction, is world-famous for creating one-of-a-kind entertainment experiences for audiences of all ages.  The Grand Ole Opry promotes the music of everyone from senior citizens Jimmy Dickens and Jean Shepard to hotshot youngsters Dierks Bentley, Trace Adkins and Brad Paisley. This multi-generational approach has served the show well for more than 80 years. It is one reason why the Opry can say with pride that it is "The Show That Made Country Music Famous."

Ryman Auditorium

Established in 1892 as the Union Gospel Tabernacle, Ryman Auditorium is a National Historic Landmark and must see for any Nashville visitor. Most famous as the home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 — 1974, there is far more to the story of Music City’s most recognizable icon. Take a Self-Guided or Guided Backstage tour and discover what makes the Ryman, the “Soul of Nashville.”  At the start of your tour, you will be immersed in the Ryman’s magical history during “Soul of Nashville,” a one-of-a-kind theater experience which puts the spotlight on more than a century of legendary performances and showcases a new collaboration with Darius Rucker, The Fisk Jubilee Singers, Sheryl Crow and Vince Gill.  Five new exhibits are now open! “Workin’ on a Building,” “Showplace of the South,” Mother Church of Country Music,” “Ryman Stage to Screen,” and “Ryman Renaissance”. Peruse genuine artifacts and enjoy videos with hosts Charles Esten, Marty Stuart, Nicole Kidman, Ricky Skaggs, Robin Roberts and Trisha Yearwood as they take you through each chapter of the fascinating Ryman story.  Explore its rich entertainment history and how the Ryman became known as the "Carnegie Hall of South" during the years when Caruso and Sousa performed, Theodore Roosevelt spoke, and Houdini escaped in the 5th Avenue vestibule timeline. Then, take your place center stage, grab a guitar and step up to the microphone while you have your photo taken on the legendary planks. Visit the Ryman Gift Shop and take a piece of music history home with you! Find exclusive Ryman merchandise including tee-shirts, Hatch Show Prints, and novelty memorabilia along with specialty CDs and DVDs. And now, you can make your own custom shirt at the all new activity station.  Open daily from 9 am until 7 pm with extended hours during events.  Take a Guided Backstage Tour* through dressing rooms dedicated to the stars of the Ryman's rich musical past including Johnny Cash, Hank Williams and Minnie Pearl, and stand in the wings where performers as varied as Elvis Presley, James Brown and Katharine Hepburn stood awaiting their time in the spotlights.   Make a Record at the Ryman! The Johnny Cash Museum

Back in the day, fans would flock to the “House of Cash,” outside Nashville to tour Johnny Cash’s museum, but this mecca to the Man in Black closed for good in the early 2000s (You may remember it being featured in his “Hurt” music video), and the end result was fans had no real place to pay homage to Johnny Cash; no where to celebrate his life… that was until The Johnny Cash Museum opened right in the heart of Nashville. As founder Shannon Miller told the Tennessean, it just didn’t seem right to not have a museum completely dedicated to one of country music’s biggest legends. Miller remarked, “Elvis has Graceland, but there was really nothing left anymore for us.” Well, today, the Millers have created just such a place. Located right in the heart of downtown Nashville within walking distance to the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, Tootsie's World Famous Orchid Lounge, and all the other Nashville hotspots, the Johnny Cash Museum has become a tourist attraction all its own. One of only 6 Nashville attractions to earn the AAA “Gem” rating, the Johnny Cash Museum has the biggest and most complete collection of Johnny Cash items in the world. Visitors get a 3-dimensional walk-through of the legend’s life through interactive exhibits, boatloads of memorabilia, stage costumes, guitars and other instruments, and other items from his family and many big-star friends. In attendance on the VIP Opening Night, former Vice President and Tennessean Al Gore even had some flattering remarks for the Johnny Cash Museum: I’ve seen a lot of museums around the world.  A world class collection of items that tells the story of Cash’s life.  I was blown away by how well it is put together. It’s first class and you will see, you can mark my words, this will become one of the major tourist attractions for Nashville. Well, looks like he was right… The Johnny Cash Museum is now one of the staples of a music-lover’s trip to Nashville. Open 7 days a week, admission will set you back $16, but it’s well-worth it for anyone who wants to explore the legendary life of Johnny Cash. There's also a pretty sweet gift shop on site for all your Man in Black swag needs... -Roadtrippers Officially authorized by the Estate of Johnny Cash, the museum features the largest and most comprehensive collection of Johnny Cash artifacts and memorabilia in the world. State of the art exhibits, a museum gift store and special events make this THE Cash venue to visit. Open now in the heart of downtown Nashville.
