Sure, everyone would probably find a reason to love a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth-- aka Orlando's Walt Disney World, the gold standard of theme parks. But it's also fun to take a day off from lunch with Mickey, flying elephants, and the spinning teacups to experience another Orlando theme park that's embracing a totally different vibe: Gatorland. Gatorland bills itself as the "real" Florida, embracing the state's scariest but most fascinating residents: alligators. I highly doubt that your trip to Disney would give you the chance to wrestle a real, live gator or to incite a feeding frenzy with a few hot dogs-- the night tour is especially chilling; imagine just seeing hundreds of glowing eyes peering up at you from the swamp. You can watch as professionals handle and feed the toothy critters, and it's one of the few places that will let you get up close and personal with an alligator. Once you've experienced rookie gator wrestling (which is a can't miss photo op) and the Gator Chow show where you can feed the creatures, then you might feel brave enough to take on the Screamin' Gator Zipline. You'll be seven stories up, above the trees, soaring over the park... which means that when you look down, you'll see lots and lots of gators looking back up at you-- be especially careful going over the alligator breeding marsh, home to 130 of the park's stars. Once you've worked up a sweat getting a little too close to the gators, you can grab a snack (they actually sell smoked gator) or cool off with a stroll through the swamp and take a dip in the Gator Gully Splash Park. Who knows-- you might not even want to go back to the Happiest Place on Earth after visiting the Most Exciting Place in Florida! -Roadtrippers Gatorland is so much more than just alligators at a price that doesn't put a strain on your vacation experience! At 110- acres, Gatorland provides affordable-priced family fun with thousands of alligators & crocodiles to see, an aviary, breeding marsh with observation tower, petting zoo, nature walk, award-winning gift shop and one-of-a-kind reptilian shows including the Gator Wrestlin' Show, Gator Jumparoo and the Up-close Encounters Show. Take a ride on the Gatorland Express train and then head on over to Gator Gully Splash Park where kids of all ages can enjoy a good ol' fashion squirtfest! Don't miss the new rare white alligators on display for a limited engagement at Gatorland's newest exhibit, White Gator Swamp. Featuring four of the world's largest white leucistic alligators known to roam the planet, these giant Ivory colored reptiles are each ten to twelve feet in length and weigh over 800 pounds. Their piercing blue eyes are believed to have the ability to command good fortune to those lucky enough to make eye contact with the blue eyed beauties.

This 248-acre Orange County park is built around one of the Apopka area’s crystal clear springs. As its name suggests, Rock Springs bubbles up from a cleft in a rock outcropping and, instead of spreading out into a pool, becomes a swiftly running stream that quickly slows to a meander. The activity of choice here, and the major reason for the park’s obvious popularity, is riding down the stream in an inner tube or on a float.Visit Kelly Park Rock Springs
Most people might not realize that in the 750 acres of pine forest just between Epcot and Magic Kingdom hides Disney's Fort Wilderness, one of the most awesome RV parks in America! Remember how much fun you had going to camp? Well, Fort Wilderness is basically that… but better. There’s arts and crafts for the kids all day long, well-stocked fishing holes, movies under the stars, campfire singalongs, and even fireworks every single night. But this place has one thing that your camp didn’t: wilderness tours…on an all-terrain segway. You can hop on one of these futuristic vehicles and buzz through the woods on a two hour guided tour of the Wilderness lodge, the Tri-Circle-D ranch, and Bay Lake, where you’ll hear trivia about the park and get up close to the local wildlife. It’s kind of like having Robocop as your camp counselor. But, you know, friendlier. The best part about Fort Wilderness, though? When you’ve filled up on s’mores and told your last ghost story by the campfire, all you’ve gotta do is hop on a boat and you’re headed just across the lake to the Magic Kingdom! The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort provide an idyllic setting for a family vacation. Nestled on 750 wooded acres of lush pine and cypress trees, the cabins provide all the comforts of home wrapped in a rustic, American Frontier theme. Time seems to slow down while you wander the quiet trails, and roaming ducks, deer and rabbits add to the sense that you are far away from the bustle of modern civilization. Location This Resort is located within the Magic Kingdom Area. Guests may also take advantage of the shuttle bus service to the famous Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Downtown Disney Area. Rooms The comfortable accommodation units all come with an ensuite bathroom with bathtub, shower and hairdryer. Further equipment includes a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, an Internet connection, an in-room wall safe and a radio. Each of the spacious cabins offers a fully equipped kitchen, a terrace and air conditioning and heating are both individually controlled. The bedroom has a full bed and a bunk bed, and the living area has a pull-down bed. Sport You'll find lots to do within the Resort's spacious grounds. Seasonally, be sure to catch Mickey's Backyard BBQ Character Dining at the Fort Wilderness Pavilion. Explore the \backcountry\ aboard a Segway personal transporter or stroll over to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch for carriage, wagon or horseback rides, or for younger Guests, pony rides. Nearby are Trail's End Restaurant and Crockett's Tavern and the very popular Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue dinner show. For fun on the water, the marina at Bay Lake rents SeaRaycers, pontoon boats and other watercraft, and offers catch-and-release fishing expeditions. Meadow Recreation Area's outdoor theater is home to the nightly Chip 'n' Dale \Sing-a-Long\ and marshmallow roast, followed by a screening of a classic Disney movie. Other diversions abound as well: trails, tennis, volleyball, swimming, horseshoes, shuffleboard and archery you can even rent bicycles at the Bike Barn. Grab essentials at the Resort's trading posts or a bite to eat at the deli. Meals Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. Payment American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and VISA are accepted as methods of payment.
