The Marlborough Sounds are an extensive network of sea-drowned valleys at the north end of the South Island of New Zealand. The Marlborough Sounds were created by a combination of land subsidence and rising sea levels at the north of the South Island of New Zealand. According to Māori mythology, the sounds are the prows of the sunken wakas of Aoraki.

Join one of the last remaining ‘Genuine’ Mail Boats left in the world, still delivering mail and groceries as it has been for almost a century. Old timers row out in dinghies to meet us, while some receive their supplies on tiny, unspoilt beaches. The people of the Marlborough Sounds are as much a part of the area as the history and majestic beauty. It really is a great way to cruise the Marlborough Sounds!
Over the winter months (May to October), we deliver on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays; and during the summer months (November to April), we deliver Monday through to Saturday. Also, during the summer months, you can join us on Sundays for our ‘Best of the Sounds Cruise’. View all cruise options now. Not only that, but we offer transfers and boat charters around the Pelorus Sound!
