Opotiki (Māori: Ōpōtiki) is a small town in the eastern Bay of Plenty in the North Island of New Zealand. It houses the headquarters of the Opotiki District Council and comes under the Bay of Plenty Regional Council.

The Opotiki Museum is a three storied building situated in the main street of Opotiki.
On the ground floor there is an extensive collection of implements and vehicles. Displays highlighting saddlery, printing, candle-making, shearing, engineering, the dairy industry and a barbers shop complete the ground floor.
Early pioneer photographs and an exhibition focused on the importance of shipping in early Opotiki occupy the mezzanine floor, while twelve heritage rooms trace history from the arrival of pioneers to the 1930s on the Elvira Sundell third floor, along with the Whakatohea Research and Archives Taonga (Treasures of the past). Recent exhibitions include a Journey Back in Time, a hundred year old grocery/hardware store, three story main museum housing Te Whare Taonga a Toi artifact exhibits, Heritage and Agricultural items, pioneer photographs and an exhibition of early shipping in Opotiki.
Open weekdays 10am – 4pm and Saturday 10am – 2pm. Adults $10 children $5.
Small, quiet, family owned park situated near the banks of the Waioeka river and a 200m walk to Opotiki town with cafes, restaurants and shops. Launch a boat or kayak 100m from our park at the wharf and travel on the river 1.5km to the sea for some superb fishing. Cycle or walk the beautiful new Motu cycle trails from the wharf to Snell beach. Alternatively follow the easy dunes trail, to the old Motu coach road and Pakihi track (for the more experienced riders).
