Sky Tower

Rangitoto Island

Auckland War Memorial Museum - Tāmaki Paenga Hira

Auckland War Memorial Museum is New Zealand's first Museum. The Museum tells the story of New Zealand, its place in the Pacific and its people. The Museum is a war memorial for the province of Auckland and holds one of New Zealand's top three heritage libraries. It has pre-eminent Māori and Pacific collections, significant natural history resources and major social and military history collections, as well as decorative arts and pictorial collections.

The estuary is safe for swimming and the beach is popular for surfing. For the keen fisherman there is spots to launch a boat as well as areas around the coastlands perfect for fishing.

Situated between two streams overlooking Overtons Beach, with shelter under mature trees, Harataonga campsite is a favorite for holidaymakers and families. Facilities include showers, access to the beach and shelter for cooking. There is sixty non powered sites and the camp site is just a stone throw away from snorkeling, swimming and diving!
