Activities for September School Holidays
The September school holidays are fast approaching in New Zealand. And, we understand that it can be difficult to keep the little ones entertained. If you haven’t already made plans, here are a few great activities during the holidays to keep both you and the kids entertained!
Arts, crafts and pottery!
The weather during September isn’t always predictable, so you could save this activity for a rainy day. We’ve discovered at-home pottery, which is a great activity for both kids and adults. The Warehouse and similar outlets stock clay products that you can have fun turning into plates, mugs, ring holders and all sorts! Once you’ve finished your creation, simply pop it in the oven to bake.
Back your backyard
New Zealand is home to some of the most incredible destinations, and most of them are right in our backyard! During lockdown, we took the opportunity to explore our local neighbourhood. We uncovered walks and areas that we’d never found before. So, we recommend that these September school holidays you take the kids out to explore the neighbourhood and #backyourbackyard! There’s nothing quite like packing up for the day and enjoying a picnic in the sun. You might find yourself at your local beach, a new beach, park or a secluded spot. This is one of our favourite activities to do during the holidays, and a great way to get in valuable family time.
Hire a campervan
If you decide that you don’t want to spend the school holidays keeping the kids entertained at home, try hiring a campervan. There are plenty of great vehicles available with short minimum hire periods. It doesn’t have to be expensive either. There are plenty of great, affordable campervans for hire through Mighway.
