A common question asked at the moment is “Is it safe to travel New Zealand“. New Zealand has been voted as one of the safest countries to travel in the word. There are low rates of theft and New Zealanders are known for their hospitality. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important that you follow the New Zealand Governments advice when making travel plans. And, if you are wanting to hire a campervan in New Zealand do not travel if you are unwell.

Domestic travel in New Zealand

The New Zealand Government have put various Alert Levels in place to protect the health and safety of all New Zealanders. These Alert Levels offer different restrictions, including when and where you can or cannot travel and how to do so safely.

Social Distancing

It’s important to maintain a safe distance from people and groups of people that you don’t know. This includes during your pick-up and drop-off of your campervan hire in New Zealand. Remember to maintain a safe distance, wash your hands thoroughly before and after social interaction and wear a face mask.

Contact Tracing

In order to protect yourself and others that you may interact with, it’s important to keep records of all services you have used, including restaurants, public transport, restrooms etc. You can also keep track of where you have been by downloading the COVID-19 tracer app. If you haven’t done so already, you can download it here.
