Orlando’s Top 5 RV Parks
When you think of vacationing in Florida, the first thing you might think of is Disney World and water attractions. The standard hotel vacation is fine for most. But if you are an outdoors person who loves camping, where do you stay? There are plenty of campgrounds and RV parks near Orlando to choose from.
If you are planning on spending most of your time in the Disney Parks while camping, you need to consider Disney’s Campsite at the Fort Wilderness Resort. This campsite provides amenities like electric hook-up, gas, water, and cable television. Not all of the sites have sewer hook-up, but you should contact the campsite for the available sites with a sewer hook-up. In addition to the standard amenities for your RV, this Disney Resort also offers a swimming pool, golf cart rental, horseback riding and will allow pets.
The Fort Wilderness Resort provides you and your family with a great camping experience. The campsite preserves the frontier and allows you to see some of the area’s wildlife like rabbits, deer, armadillos and ducks.
Lake Whippoorwill KOA
If you are more into water sports and activities, Lake Whippoorwill is for you! This Orlando campground has campsites with a view of the lake. You can take in this beautiful scenery right from your RV. The one downside for this campsite is it can only accommodate RV’s of 85 feet and shorter. Any RV larger than the 85 feet will not fit.
Lake Whippoorwill provides electric and propane hook-ups, cable television, a kitchen, Wi-Fi and a pavilion. This site does not offer a sewer hook-up. But they do have dumping station on the grounds if you are planning an extended stay.
With a lake onsite, this is one of the best RV parks near Orlando if you’re looking for water activities to keep you busy. These activities include swimming, fishing and a hot tub/sauna. The site does have a private boat ramp and canoe rental for more water fun.
The Kissimmee KOA campsite is able to handle RV’s that are a little larger in size. The site can accommodate RV’s that are as long as 34 feet and offers a variety of different camp sites. You can choose from a back-in, pull through or full hook-up with a deluxe patio. In addition to the different site types, you have access to electric and propane hook-ups, Wi-Fi, cable television, firewood and a pavilion.
This site is minutes away from Disney, Universal Studios and Sea World. If you decide spend your time at the campsite, you still have plenty to keep you busy. The site has a playground, basketball court, swimming pool, Dog Park, fitness center, a jump pad and offers bike rentals.
Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake
The Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake offers RV camping and fishing. You have your choice of either full hook-up or partial hook-up. The full hook-up includes electric, water and sewer. The partial hook-up includes only electric and water. If you have more than six campers in your party, you will need to pay an additional one-time charge for those above the six. This campsite is also located minutes from the Disney Parks, Universal Studios and Sea World. The site is also known for its fishing.
Orlando RV Resort
The Orlando RV Resort has various activities for campers of all ages. The activities include a playground, water aerobics, bocce ball, wood carving, live entertainment, potlucks, dancing, exercise classes, ceramics, mini golf, swimming, fishing and arts and crafts. The facility also offers you the option to rent a boat.
The site does have a dumping station. Each individual site comes with electric and water hook-ups for your RV. The site did not specify maximum length for an RV, so you will want to call to double check the sites capacity.
